Polyvinyl alcohol (abbreviated as PVA) also can be called PVOH. PVA is unique among polymers (chemical compounds made up of large, multiple-unit molecules) in that it is not built up in polymerization reactions from single-unit precursor molecules known as monomers. Instead, PVA is made by dissolving another polymer, polyvinyl acetate, in an alcohol such as methanol and treating it with an alkaline catalyst such as sodium hydroxide. PVA BP17 & PVA BP20 & PVA BP24 Applications:
Partial alcoholys is PVA products such as PVA BP17 (PVA-1788) PVA BP24 (PVA-2488) are mainly used for coating adhesive, dispersant, emulsifier, seed and pharmaceutical coating agents, water-soluble film, cosmetic additive, emulsification stabilizer for vinyl acetate or vinyl chloride polymerizing, temporary protective film and so on.
PVA BP 20 (PVA-2088) is mainly applied in adhesive, in printing industry and textile industry. It is also can be used as fiber reinforcement in concrete.
